The statistics listed below are very important to let you know that you are not alone in facing the many challenges of today’s work and home environment.  Developing and utilize organizing skills will enhance productivity; decrease time spent looking for documents, and reduce stress levels for a more efficient work or home environment.

1. The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention states unequivocally that 80% of our medical         expenditures are now stress related.

2. Job stress is estimated to cost U.S. industry between $200 and $300 BILLION dollars annually.

3. Managers surveyed state the following:
     a.  49% feel they are often unable to handle the volumes of information received on a daily basis.

The average hourly rate across the United States, with benefits, is $25.00.  Therefore,

$25.00 x 150 hours = $3,750 per employee is wasted in lost productivity, increase stress levels,

and a decrease in employee and employer satisfaction.

6. Paper usage is growing six to eight percent each year.  The number of pages printed between 1995 and 2005 have doubled.

7. 25% of workers keep documents and other items in piles instead of files.

8. 80% of what we file away for future references is never reviewed again.

9. 42% of adults report that too often they feel that “life is a treadmill and I can’t get off the treadmill”.

10. A national poll found that 96% of employees want more flexibility and control over their time. 
73% of employees are willing to curtail their careers in favor for time spent with the family.

11. We wear 20% of the clothes we own 80% of the time.  The remaining clothes just hang in the closet for those “just encase” moments.
